Volunteer Registration & Orientation
JA BizTown is one of JA's capstone experiences for 4th-6th graders and will be a rewarding way for you to volunteer a few hours of your time. It is operated by Junior Achievement of Northern Indiana, which has provided over 180,000 student experiences of all ages across the region via proven volunteer and educator-led programming and experiences in financial literacy, work and career readiness, and entrepreneurship.
In order to have a successful day at JA BizTown, we need at least one or two volunteers per business. To prepare for this experience, the school will provide the volunteer with the Volunteer Confirmation Letter containing instructions on how to complete the registration and orientation steps. The steps are summarized below:
JA ENGAGE REGISTRATION & REQUIRED VOLUNTEER PAPERWORK
Using a unique URL provided by your school, you will access the JA Engage website and register for the experience. Once JA Staff confirm your registration, you will receive an email from DocHub to complete the JA Volunteer Conduct Standards, Media Policy, and Media Release & Consent policies. Volunteers who are unable to complete this process online prior to the simulation will be able to complete the paper version at check-in on the simulation day.
ORIENTATION: ON-SITE
Participate in an on-site volunteer orientation session on the simulation day. Orientation begins promptly one hour before the students arrive. You will learn how your assigned student-run business operates and what your role will be during the simulation.
NOTE: Your school district may also have background check requirements in place that are not affected by the above requirements.
Thank You for volunteering at JA BizTown - we can't wait for you to be here!
