Volunteer Registration & Orientation

Get ready to make an impact.

Junior Achievement BizTown is one of Junior Achievement’s capstone experiences for 4th–6th grade students, and volunteers are what make the day come to life.
You do not need to be an expert in business, finance, or education. You simply need to show up ready to encourage students, help them stay on track, and remind them that they are capable of more than they may realize.

During JA BizTown, students become employees, consumers, business leaders, and citizens for the day. With your support, they practice teamwork, responsibility, problem-solving, customer service, and money management in a fully interactive simulated town.

Register to volunteer

Signing up is simple and only takes a few steps.

1. Log in or create your account on VolunteerHub

Volunteering with a specific school: Many schools recruit volunteers for their own JA BizTown visit. If you are volunteering with a specific school, please contact the school for the unique registration link for your visit.

This helps make sure you are connected to the correct school, date, and simulation. Your school may also have separate background check requirements. Please contact your school directly with any questions about district-specific requirements.

Community volunteers: Want to sign up for an open volunteer opportunity? Use the button below to view JA BizTown opportunities available to community volunteers.

2. E-sign the JA Volunteer Policy Agreement
This agreement is required to be signed annually for all JA volunteers and is completed through VolunteerHub when you log in or create your account.

3. Select your event
Once your Volunteer Policy Agreement is complete, you will be able to choose the JA BizTown simulation you would like to attend and complete your registration.

A confirmation email is sent once your registration has been completed. Be sure to read this email as it will contain important details about your volunteer experience.

What to Expect Onsite

Please plan to arrive one hour before students. When you arrive, you will:
• Complete volunteer check-in
- Check-in is quick and easy for those that pre-registered online
- Those that need to register onsite will want to plan to allow a bit of extra time to complete the required paperwork
• Attend a brief orientation to understand your role during the simulation
• Learn how your assigned student-run business operates
• Meet your JA staff member and have time to ask questions before students arrive

Throughout the day, JA staff will be nearby to answer questions, help with transitions, and support you and the students.

Thank you for volunteering at JA BizTown. We can’t wait for you to be here!
